Senior Class Giving

Senior Class Graduating students

Senior Class Giving is our first opportunity to give back to the Beach. While most seniors do not yet have the ability to make large contributions, we can make a difference through participation.

For the 4th year in a row, U.S. News & World Report ranked CSULB in the top 5 Public Comprehensive Universities in the Western United States.

U.S. News & World Report looks at the rate of alumni participation from alumni when determining CSULB’s national ranking. Since our class accounts for 4% of the university’s alumni, we can have a significant impact on the value of our degree, making us better candidates for graduate schools and employers.

Senior Class Giving is a long-running tradition at CSULB that was discontinued for a number of years, but last year marked its successful return. This year we are hoping to restore this tradition and give back to the university that has given us so much. We can do this by working together.

Why should we give to the Beach?

Tuition only covers 17% of the actual cost to educate each student at the university.  Our contributions can help make up the difference.

  • Our participation helps to maintain and increase our national ranking, which in turn, makes us good candidates for graduate schools and employers.
  • CSULB has the lowest fees out of the CSU system. Private support maintains the university’s ability to offer quality education at affordable costs.
  • We can improve the academic or athletic departments that are most important to us, benefiting the faculty and staff we care about, as well as future students to come.
  • Our gifts can assist in preserving the free resources that we use as students, like the Writers Resource Center and the Career Development Center.
