"Jump Start" Math & English Workshops for Incoming Students

Jump Start English Workshop – July 7 - Aug. 15
Jump Start Math Workshop – July 21- Aug. 15

Forty to 50 percent of incoming students are typically deemed by the University to be under-prepared for baccalaureate-level math and / or English courses. The two summer workshops below have been designed to assist incoming freshmen in making up these deficiencies as well as to give them a stronger foundation and be more successful in University courses. Both workshops are graded credit / no-credit only. They do not count toward graduation, but do count toward student’s course load.

Resources for Students

Scholarships, grants, loans, work-study, internships, etc.

CSULB offers a great resource for its students: the Center for Scholarship Information (CSI).

Empty Nest Syndrome?

When our daughters and sons go away to the university, or even when they live at home and commute, parents will note an attitude change, says Dr. Mike Hostetler, Dean of Students.

Deepen Your Relationship

Annually, more than 20,000 alumni and friends of the university choose to provide vital financial resources to students and faculty at Cal State Long Beach.
