In a collaborative effort, SLD and University Outreach and School Relations developed an outreach program that featured noon rallies at local high schools that recognized students who have been accepted to CSULB and provided students with a glimpse of the academic and social opportunities available at the university. Participating high schools included Jordan, Artesia, Mayfair and Long Beach Poly. The rallies gave students the chance to interact with current CSULB students and gather information about what the university has to offer inside and outside the classroom. Students also were encouraged to attend the third annual Step N2 The Beach program and the 19th annual Long Beach Step Show on March 21. The Step N2 The Beach program connected prospective students with current CSULB students, faculty and student support services staff.
