CAPS selected three doctoral interns for 2006-07 to complete full-time, 12-month internships in its American Psychological Association internship program. New interns are Hilary Cisco, Ph.D., from the University of Notre Dame; Carolyn O’Keefe, Psy.D., from Pepperdine University; and Veronica Orozco, Ph.D., from Ohio State University. The CAPS internship program is the only APA doctoral internship program accredited in the CSU system. The program was first accredited in 1987.

At the third annual T3 Institute on September 9, the Office of the Dean of Students sponsored a keynote address by Pamela Garretson, executive director for Boeing Engineering, Operations and Technology and a CSULB alumna.
For the third consecutive year, a Student Services Division office proudly safeguarded the division’s position as first placeholder in the Staff Council’s annual Spooktacular competition. This year, it was time to party on dry land for the sea dogs of Housing and Residential Life when Captain Stan Olin docked his Dead Man’s Ship at the office. Housing received the award for best “large department” in the annual university-wide Halloween competition.

During spring 2006, Student Health Services was reaccredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. for a three-year period, the longest term awarded. Accreditation of a university health center is a voluntary process through which an ambulatory health care organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards.
SHS has been accredited for the past 15 years.
