Scholarship Information for Transfer Students
So, you are in the process of transferring to California State University, Long Beach and want to know how to find a scholarship. Most of the scholarships offered by CSULB are for continuing students. We recommend that you view the section "Continuing Students" after you have established yourself at the Beach.
In regard to other scholarships, please review the following sections to ensure that you identify all of your scholarship opportunities:
Community College/Institution You are Coming From
There are scholarships available at the institution from which you are transfering. Please contact the scholarship office at your institution to receive more information on financial aid they may offer.
Center for Scholarship Information (CSI)
The CSI is the main source for information regarding on- and off-campus scholarships at CSU, Long Beach. The office provides the following services for you to utilize:
Office of Financial Aid
There are four types of financial aid available to students. The Center for Scholarship Information oversees scholarships. The Office of Financial Aid oversees the other three types of aid: Grants, loans and work-study. These types of aid are provided by the federal and state government. The application for these three types of aid is available by filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Whether or not you think you are eligible for these types of aid, we recommend that you file for the FAFSA. Some scholarships consider your FAFSA information in the awarding process.

Scholarship Search Engines
Scholarship search engines are a great way to find off-campus scholarships not listed with the Center for Scholarship Information. All you need to do is view "Scholarship Search Engines," pick a search engine, and fill out a student profile on their website. The scholarship search engine will then send information on scholarships to your e-mail account. These search engines also provide a wide variety of information on other financial aid topics.
