Center for Scholarship Information (CSI)

CSULB offers a great resource for its students: the Center for Scholarship Information (CSI). As a 49er (or potential 49er!), you have the opportunity to apply for various types of financial aid. This aid comes in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, work-study, internships, etc.

The CSI offers generalized information for the groups listed in the right-hand column under, "Scholarship information for..." Look through the area appropriate to your needs. If you have any questions, please contact the Coordinator of Scholarship Information.

If you have already reviewed your respective area, the CSI webpages have four common tools you may use when looking for scholarships: Scholarship categories, the CSI electronic newsletter, an alphabetical listing of scholarships and the deadlines & availability calendar.  The tools are listed as follows:

The primary focus of the CSI in helping you find scholarships is the utilazation of Scholarship Categories.  A link, "Scholarship Categories," appears on each page of the CSI web site.  Scholarship information is appropriately placed under respective categories.  Take some time and review the recommendations for using the CSI pages and scholarship categories in the appropriate link under "Scholarship information for . . . " in the right-hand navigation bar.

Alphabetical Listing of Scholarships

A third way the CSI may help you find information on scholarships is through the use of the "Alphabetical Listing of Scholarships."  Please use this link to find a scholarship for which you may already know the name.  However, refrain from using it to peruse for a scholarship that may apply to you.  Perusing for scholarships should occur by looking through the "Scholarship Categories."

Deadlines Calendar

A fourth way the CSI may help you find information on scholarships is through the "Deadlines Calendar."  The calendar is designed to show deadlines for specific scholarships.  This feature also shows how many business days remain for a student to apply for a scholarship from the current day to the day of the respective scholarship's deadline.

A fifth way the CSI may help you find information on scholarships is through the "Availability Calendar."  The calendar is similar to the "Deadlines Calendar," but is designed to show availability of when students may begin applying for a specific scholarships.  This feature also shows remaining business days remaining from the current day to the deadline.
