What is going on... |
Elections are coming up this week. I am pretty tired of all the politicians recorded messages, reminding me to vote for them.
Do not get me wrong, I love to vote and I enjoy getting information about the different propositions. But this election season is starting to wear thin on my nerves. The constant commercials about prop 86 and 88 contradict themselves and it is getting annoying to see the same ads over and over again.
The California General Election Official Voter Information Guide can be found at www.voterguide.ss.ca.gov. They have information on the ballot measures as well as candidate information. All of this is non-partisan and I find it to be useful since I am not a big fan of getting mixed messages.
Polling locations are open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. on November 7th, 2006. Remember to go Vote!
On another note I am definitely excited to have the fall season come around. I like darker days and I like to see our leaves change. Yes, I know it’s not like the east coast but I definitely think it’s great because I can enjoy the chilly weather but still can wear my flip-flops.
This season reminds me of family and holidays. I went to Disneyland the other day and I loved seeing all the decorations they had everywhere. It was amazing to see the lights up in New Orleans Square and this year they decorated the park with Halloween decorations which looked really good. I can’t wait to see all the other decorations that are going to come up!
There is only one drawback I see to this time of year and that is that it has become painfully clear that our semester is coming to a close. The finish line is in view and I am not ready. Some advice for everyone else is that this is crunch time and if you think you can put that paper off for another week… guess again. Get your work done; I know that is what I will be up to this week. Just me and a cup of hot chocolate looking over my projects that are due by the end of the month.

Who is Meli The Gr8?When she is not posing next to trees, Meli Duque uses her time to trick unknowing freshmen into giving all their time to ASI. The self-proclaimed Beach Guru is a super-senior who has been involved, one way or another, in almost every type of organization on campus, which includes writing for both school newspapers (when that was allowed), joining a sorority, campaigning for student government, and even rowing on the women's crew team (it only lasted two weeks). Now she stays chained to a desk in ASI Communications where she writes, edits and awaits her chance to escape into the "real world" this spring. |
