Summer Bridge Program Goals

  • To determine your level of English and math skills, and provide courses which will improve your competencies in both, so you will be prepared to enter the next level for Fall. We feel these two skills are among the most essential in ensuring students are successful in college.

  • To provide one general education (GE) course which will allow you to experience both a real college course, and give you the opportunity to earn three (3) college units during the summer.

  • To learn more about your major and, explore career opportunities you may not have considered before.

  • To provide tutorial sessions to optimize your understanding of the course materials and ensure your progress.

  • To understand what is expected of you as a college student.

  • To provide you with enrichment activities so you may learn about yourself and your fellow students.

  • To get to know the campus so you'll know exactly where you need to go for your classes and other campus services, when you begin in the fall.

  • To give you the opportunity to get to know the EOP staff and the counselors with whom you will work very closely after the Summer Bridge Program.

  • To make friendships that will last a lifetime, and much, much more!!!

NOTE: Your EPT (English Placement Test) and ELM (Entry Level Math Test) MUST be taken by May. Please call the CSULB Testing and Evaluation Services at (562) 985-4006 for fee and site information.
