Sin by Silence - Documentary on Domestic Violence
& Speaker: Brenda Clubine
SIN BY SILENCE is a gateway into the lives of women who are domestic violence's living, worst-case scenarios. Some of these women have killed their abusers and are now trapped behind bars. While most of the women in SIN BY SILENCE may remain in prison for the remainder of their lives, these women are committed to helping others understand the reality of domestic violence. Through their stories of terror and hope, the viewer can begin to understand the cycle of violence, the signs of an abuser, and how each and every one of us is responsible for changing the tragedy of domestic violence

Clothesline Project
10:00 AM-3:00 PM
Speaker Platform West Lawn
The Clothesline Project is a program which addresses the issue of violence against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women. With the support of many, Clothesline Project has since spread world-wide.
The Women's Resource Center and service learning volunteers at CSULB will be using shirts from Long Beach local shelters to show students a visual evidence of violence.
