1) Veterans understand the meaning of teamwork. Every veteran understands there is no "I" in TEAM. They also understand how camaraderie can increase productivity in small organizations.
2) Veterans are disciplined and have a solid work ethic.
3) Veterans love and believe in America and her traditions.
4) Veterans understand the importance of leadership; many of them were leaders during tough times and in austere work conditions. In their business, failed leadership can cost lives.
5) Veterans worked in ethically-based institutions with codes of conduct that espouse loyalty, integrity, discipline, selfless service, and respect for others.
6) Our newest veterans (since the early '70's) are volunteers who exhibit tendencies of initiative, altruism, and personal sacrifice.
7) Veterans are pragmatists. They look for the most efficient way to accomplish the goal with minimal waste and maximum effort.
8) Veterans are educated while serving. Enlisted members will attend two or three courses in a four-year period. One is typically a leadership course; one is a specialized training course focussing on equipment or technology. Officers will spend 1/3 of their careers conducting advanced studies.
9) Veterans epitomize the concept of a "quick study." Many servicemembers have to learn new jobs and skills without formal education.
