Setting Your Azimuth

Checklist For Getting Started

• 1. Prepare academic file
  • a. Start academic file; collect records
    • One student copy of all transcripts, records, and evaluation
    • One official copy of all transcripts, etc for the Admissions office
    • Have a separate copy from each institution (no compilations)
    • Have several copies of your DD 214
    • Have copies of your disability/medical paperwork (if applicable)
  • b. Have copies of college catalogues available (if possible)
  • c. Have copies of any academic evaluations such as CLEP, DANTES,           testing results, credentialing, SMART/AART, ACE, et
• 2. Meet admissions eligibility criteria
  • a. Freshman
  • b. Transfer
  • c. Are your credits from a California school transferable?
• 3. Is CSULB still accepting applications from veterans for the semester I seek? Late application policy for veterans coming from a combat tour.

• 4. Apply online through CSUmentor
  • a. I am applying late and I need to download a hardcopy application.
• 5. Apply for GI Bill Certificate of Eligibility through the VA.

• 6. Apply to Financial Aid for grants, loans, and scholarships. Complete FAFSA online or send to Financial Aid (2 Jan to 2 March

• 7. Track your application process.
  • a. Was your application received?

  • c. Have you been admitted by CSULB? Yes!

• 8. Attend SOAR (required)
