  • Must have served & been deployed for at least 60 days in Afghanistan or Iraq after September 11, 2001, or be veterans who were deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq after September 11, 2001, but did not meet the 60-day active service period as a result of a service-related injury or condition incurred while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq.

  • The VFW's Military Scholarship program provides 25 $3,000 scholarships annually to VFW members who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged within the 36 months before the December 31 deadline.
  • The scholarships will be awarded to service members from each branch of service (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard) during the 1st quarter of the year following the deadline.
