We're excited to have you join the 49er Family. Your academic and social transition to life at The Beach begins when you attend your new student orientation workshop known as SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration). Watch the video above – Preparing for SOAR – for a complete list of items and reminders. In addition, all students attending SOAR should bring the following items to their workshop:
Freshmen should bring copies of any test results including SAT, ACT, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), English Placement Test (EPT), Entry Level Math (ELM), Early Assessment Program (EAP), Chemistry Placement Test (CPT), and/or Math Diagnostic Placement Test (MDPT). If you’ve earned credit from a community college or another university, please bring a copy of your unofficial transcripts.
Transfer students should bring copies of unofficial college transcripts from all previous institutions. Be sure these documents include any work in progress.
