The department of Student Transition and Retention Services (STARS) facilitates the transition and retention of our diverse student population by fostering their advancement toward graduation through our commitment to providing student-centered programming and services.
STARS directs its major efforts toward the advising, registration and orientation of new students and the facilitation of their retention and persistence toward graduation. We collaboratively administer the university’s Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) program and coordinate CSULB's First Year Experience (FYE) program with the Dean of Students, Learning Assistance Center and Career Development Center.
