Managed by the Student Life and Development office, the mission of the Student Resource Centers is to provide students facilities and programming to meet their cultural, social, and academic developmental needs. The Student Resource Centers also serve as an educational resource for students and staff who wish to learn more about African American, Asian Pacific, Chicano/a, Latino/a, Native American, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender issues.
There are five student-run resource centers on campus where students may go for information and support. Activities in the centers vary and may include small group meetings, planning for major cultural events, study hall, peer mentoring and dissemination of information on community resources/volunteer opportunities and scholarships. Some centers may also house selected reading material.

The mission of the African Student Association Center is to provide a facility for African students and staff in a secure, supportive, well maintained, functional, and African centered environment. The focus of the center is to benefit the cultural growth and development of the CSULB African community.
The American Indian Student Study Center serves to create an atmosphere of special support, cultural enrichment, academic retention and most importantly, a sense of community for American Indian students. The center operates to provide academic and cultural resources for the CSULB campus community.
The mission of the Asian Pacific Student Resource Center is to provide a facility for Asian Pacific student organizations and Asian Pacific students and staff. In addition, the Asian Pacific Student Resource Center serves to educate and inform the campus wide community of Asian Pacific culture, history, and social issues.
The LGBT Resource Center strives to promote full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, and queer identified individuals and their allies at CSULB.
The Raza Resource Center's goal is to provide resources that educate students about the many historical and cultural backgrounds that make up the Chicana/o & Latina/o population. This also includes the promotion and education of social movements, community organizing, and political issues that have and continue to affect Chicanas/os and Latinas/os.
