The "Easter Bunny" presented baskets to
the children at Miller Children's Hospital.
In March, Easter bunnies from the CSULB Health Science Student Association joined Easter bunnies from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization and United Way to visit Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach. The HSSA distributed more than 40 baskets to spread cheer to patients. The baskets contained non-edible goodies donated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the American Lung Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and commissioned officers of the U.S. Public Health Service. HSSA co-presidents Karina Velazquez and Samantha Kunemoto were on hand to pass out the treats. “As college student leaders, we encourage our peers to participate in volunteer and charity opportunities and to network with outside organizations,” Kunemoto said.
