Scholarship Application and Student Speaker

Scholarships

Scholarship Criteria:

  1. Must be a continuing CSULB student.
  2. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.7
  3. Submit completed application with Essay
  4. Submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts
  5. Must attend Chican@ / Latin@ Graduation Celebration

Essay Criteria:

  1. Must be 2 – 3 pages in length on the following topic
    1. Your personal background
    2. What have you done to empower the Chican@ / Latin@ community at CSULB?
    3. What do you believe the future holds for the Chican@ / Latin@ community and your involvement in this process?
  2. Submit completed application and essay to:

Student Speaker

The CLGC invites you to participate in our Speech Contest for this year’s graduation.

Criteria:

  1. The speech must be a maximum of 5 – 10 minutes long.*
  2. The speech must incorporate this year’s CLGC theme**
  3. Candidates must deliver their speech in front of the CLGC committee on April 28th . You will be notified the same night if you have been chosen to present your speech.
  4. Submit your speech to:

    Monica Moran, Keynote Speaker Chair
    Student Life and Development – USU
    Latino Student Union – Mail Box 120

*You are encouraged to incorporate Spanish into your speech.
*The theme for this year’s graduation celebration is:

"Our education empowers us to open doors for our community."
"La educación nos da el poder para guiar nuestra communidad."
