Dear African American Graduate,
Congratulations on your graduation from California State University, Long Beach! Your time spent at this university will prove to be one of the most significant experiences of your life.
The 22nd Annual African American Graduation Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM. There will be a reception to follow. There is a $2.00 admission charge for the Celebration.
Graduates are required to wear a cap and gown, which are available for rent at the University Bookstore. All graduates are to arrive for the rehearsal at the CSULB Pyramid on May 23, 2009 no later than 10:00 AM. We ask that the graduates arrive for the rehearsal dressed for the celebration. You will not have time to leave after the rehearsal.

The registration fee of $35.00 is *due by Thursday, April 30, 2009 in order to participate in the Celebration. Registration is done online. Payments can be made at the ASI Business Office (USU-220). Please note: Money Order or Cash will be the only forms of payment accepted.
Graduates and their families will have an opportunity to submit camera-ready photos, poems, and well wishes to be included in the Graduation Celebration Memory Book. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 1, 2009, 5:00 PM at the Office of Student Life and Development (USU-215). Please note that space is limited.
The Black Scholars Student Association will host the African American Graduates’ Recognition Dinner on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7:00 PM at The Pointe Each ticket to the dinner is $20.00 each per graduate, guest and family members. Tickets will be available through May 18, 2008 at noon at the ASI Business Office (USU-220).
