Dear African American Graduate,
Congratulations on your graduation from California State University, Long Beach! Your time spent at this university will prove to be one of the most significant experiences of your life.
The 27th Annual African American Graduation Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM. There will be a reception to follow.
Graduates are required to wear a cap and gown, which are available for rent at the University Bookstore. All graduates are to arrive for the rehearsal at the CSULB Pyramid on May 17, 2014 no later than 10:00 AM. We ask that the graduates arrive for the rehearsal dressed for the celebration. You will not have time to leave after the rehearsal.
The registration fee of $40.00 is due by Wednesday, April 30, 2014 by 5:00 pm in order to participate in the Celebration. There is a $2.00 admission charge for the Celebration Guest Tickets. Payments can be made at the Associated Students Business Office (USU-229). Please note: No personal checks are accepted for payment.
All Graduate and Undergraduate Speakers, Poets, and African Dancers who want to speak/perform at the graduation must attend auditions on either April 11th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM or on April 18th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Auditions will take place at the Leadership Resource Center (LRC) located on the third floor of the University Student Union, room 314. Please email the Graduation Committee at email@example.com with any questions.

Graduates and their families will have an opportunity to submit camera-ready photos, poems, and well wishes to be included in the Graduation Celebration Memory Book. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 5:00 PM at the Office of Student Life and Development (USU-215). Please note that space is limited.
