Immunization Information

Immunization Proof Alert

The California State University requires new students to provide proof of immunity or get vaccinations. If you do not clear your immunization requirements, a registration hold may be placed on future registration access.

Immunization Clinics are held at Student Health Services

  • Mondays and Tuesdays: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Check in with Student Health Services cashier.

Required Immunization(s)

  • If you are 18 or younger* on your first scheduled day of class, there are two required immunizations: Measles/Rubella and Hepatitis B.
  • If you are 19 or older* on your first day of class, there is one required immunization: Measles/Rubella.
  • Measles/Rubella: Required of all new students born 1957 or later
  • Hepatitis B: required of entering students if they are 18 years of age or younger on their first day of class.

Students enrolled in a California public school for the seventh grade or higher, on or after July 1, 1999 will have satisfied these requirements.

Note to students: Before receiving an immunization, it is recommended that you eat breakfast or lunch. After receiving an immunization you must wait 20 minutes before leaving the building.

Why these immunizations?

  • Measles/Rubella are childhood diseases with potentially serious effects on adult health
  • Hepatitis B is a viral infection that affects the liver with potentially serious life long health consequences. The Hepatitis B vaccination has been shown to be safe and effective in providing protective immunity through a series of three shots given over a four to six month period.

What do I do to clear the immunization requirements?

  • Obtain a copy of your medical or high school record showing dates of shots given
  • Obtain a copy of your medical record of blood tests showing immunity
  • Medical and personal religious exemptions are available
