A s the cost of attending college continues to increase, many students are looking for additional ways to fund their education. These students are finding what they need at the Center for Scholarship Information. At the center, students receive individualized services including advising on the scholarship application process; access to a scholarship database containing information for on- and off-campus scholarships; proofreading of scholarship applications; personal statements and essays; and access to the internet.
The Center for Scholarship Information recently launched a new and improved website with easier access to scholarship information. New features include a simple scholarship search process, links to campus scholarship web pages and resources for parents, faculty and staff. Students are still able to search for scholarship information by their major, by essay competitions, by extracurricular activities and by general demographics, such as gender and ethnicity.
The Center for Scholarship Information is not just a campus resource for students. It also supports scholarship programs in various colleges and departments on campus and assists with scholarship fundraising efforts. The center currently is working in collaboration with the Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. and the Division of Student Services to raise money for the Forty-Niner Textbook Scholarship Program. This program is designed to create scholarships to assist students with purchasing books.
