General Guidelines for Kaleidoscope Participants
- Make it a top priority to be organized, prepared, and ready to go on Kaleidoscope Day.
- Communicate clearly and often with other group members during the Kaleidoscope preparation process.
- Make sure there are enough group members to cover your Kaleidoscope space throughout the event. Remember that group members will want to explore the various attractions and activities at the Kaleidoscope Festival; breaks should be planned for everyone.
- Bring necessary supplies. Provide your workers with necessary cords, equipment, and fire extinguishers. Depending on the activity, other supplies might include tablecloths, tape, scissors, paper towels/rags, trash containers, event tickets, pot holders, serving utensils, paper goods (cups, napkins, plates, and plastic ware), decorations, signs, pens, paper, prizes, and toys.
- Plan ahead, especially
when serving food. The Kaleidoscope Festival starts at 11 A.M. and ends at 5 P.M. Please offer a high quality product at a competitive price.
- The Long Beach Health Department requires the use of hand and utensil washing sinks. Kaleidoscope food vendors will receive food handling training at the April Final Preparation
Meetings.
You will be responsible for the proper use of these sinks throughout the Kaleidoscope Festival.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Kaleidoscope 2010 t-shirts will be sold in the University Bookstore during the month of April. It is recommended that participants wear official Kaleidoscope t-shirts so they may be identified as Kaleidoscope workers sharing Beach Pride with campus visitors.
- Ask for help and clarification from Kaleidoscope coordinators now. In order to alleviate any complications please plan ahead and ask questions before April 24, 2010.
