Policies & Agreement Forms

Students with a documented print disability can acquire literary textbooks and resource materials required for course instruction to be converted to Braille or E-Text format. To complete a request for an alternative format of instructional materials, the student must be enrolled in the course for which the materials are required, complete all alt media request and copyright forms with the HTC Alternative Media Specialist, and provide a copy of both the course syllabus and the reading assignment schedule and proof of textbook purchase in the form of a current receipt. Note that aquiring alternative formats of instructional materials may take up to 3 to 4 weeks from the time a request is made to the time the publisher responds to the request. In order to receive alternative media in a timely manner, students need to make their request 4 to 6 weeks prior to the first day of instruction. Requests that are made after the semester begins will be processed as quickly as possible, although the student needs to realize that no timeliness of turn-around can be guarenteed.

Students with a disability who need computer access for university, state, or national tests may arrange accommodations with the HTC staff when requests are within the guidelines of the examinations offered at the university.
