Student Veterans/ Service Members & CAPS

Welcome to the CSULB CAPS (Counseling & Psychological Services) website. Every year CSULB serves the educational needs of more than 400 student veterans/servicemembers. At CAPS we recognize that the transition from military service to student life can be difficult. This is especially true for those who have served in combat, are still on active or reserve duty, or are dependants of student veterans/servicemembers. We also acknowledge that just like any other student, life can be difficult and student veterans/servicemembers can benefit from being heard or gaining a different perspective on a problem. Several CAPS staff have contributed and participated in the CSULB VET NET Ally program which seeks to increase the awareness of staff and faculty at CSULB on some of the challenges faced by student veterans/servicemembers.
