Funded by the College Access Foundation of Californa and offered through the Cal-SOAP College Access Scholarship Program, over $115,000 in college scholarships were made available to seniors at 16 participant high schools in Compton, Long Beach, Lakewood, and Whittier, and the Youth Opportunity Center of Long Beach. The scholarships were granted to students who will enroll at a college or university in the fall of 2009: $1,000 scholarships were awarded for community college enrollment and the $2,000 scholarships were awarded for university enrollment.
