1st Fridays Long Beach

Time(s): First Friday of every month; 6:00pm-10:00pm

Location: Atlantic Ave between Bixby Road and San Antonio Drive

Cost: Free

Info: Every first Friday night of the month, participating Bixby Knolls businesses will unite to promote local artists and musicians through extended operating hours. In doing so we hope to encourage a dialogue between businesses, artists and the community. 2nd Saturday Art Walk

Time(s): Second Saturday of every month; 4:00pm-10:00pm

Location: Downtown Long Beach East Village Arts District

Cost: Free

Info: The Art Walk takes place around the streets of Ocean Blvd, Linden Ave, 1st Street, Broadway and Elm. Local art galleries and retail businesses such as gift shops, boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops stay open until late evening. Linden Avenue is closed to traffic and transformed into a street art fair by local artists. Two stages are dedicated to street performances and live music. Anyone is welcome. Parking is available in nearby structures and parking lots for about $4.00/day or free by chance on nearby streets. www.artwalklb.com

Long Beach Outdoor Antique and Collectible Market

Downtown Walking Tours

Time(s): Every third Saturday from 10:00am-11:30am

Location: Meet at 3rd and Promenade

Cost: $10

Info: Long Beach Heritage is proud to announce our Walking Tour Program to help foster preservation advocacy and education throughout Long Beach. Tours occur on the 3rd Saturday of every month starting in front of the WPA Mural at the north end of the Promenade at 3rd Street. Free parking at 3rd & Promenade parking structure until noon. Each tour lasts approximately 1-1/2 hours and covers about 1-1/2 miles. Moderate walking difficulty. Tickets available through Paypal, $10 per person. 30 Minute Beach Cleanup

Location: Meet at 1 Granada Avenue

Cost: Free

Harbor Tours

Questions My Mother Can’t Answer and Questions for My Mother

Info: The afternoon begins with Questions My Mother Can't Answer, a moving and funny show written and performed by Andrea Caban; in which she goes on a mind-body-soul healing mission after being hit by a New York City cab.Caban portrays eight “women- of-a-certain-age” and finds that life is not about avoiding accidents or tragedies, but how we deal with them.The afternoon continues with Questions For My Mother, a documentary theatre piece created by Long Beach high school sophomores and juniors in Sparking Curiosity, a 12-week workshop led by CSULB Theatre Arts faculty Andrea Caban.
