The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is an assessment program sponsored by Indiana University that enables participating institutions to measure student satisfaction and engagement with campus experiences in and out of the classroom. In 2008, CSULB freshmen and seniors were invited to complete the web-based survey instrument.
Items on the NSSE instrument were used to create the folowing five benchmarks:
Supportive Academic Environment
Level of Academic Challenge
Active/Collaborative Learning
Student-Faculty Interaction
Enriching Educational Experiences
