Student Support Services Program (SSSP) is a federally funded program designed to increase the college retention and graduation rates of 450 eligible CSULB undergraduate students annually. CSULB SSSP also provides grant aid to program participants who receive Federal Pell Grants.
To assist and motivate students to achieve their educational goals, CSULB SSSP provides academic advising, tutorial assistance/referrals, and workshops in academic writing skills. Participants have access to the SSSP Computer Lab and laptop computers are available for loan. The program also offers participants various opportunities for social interaction and cultural enrichment. In addition, through involvement in the SSSP Student Council, participants can gain valuable leadership skills. For freshmen, the SSSP Mentoring Program is available to assist with their acclimation to university life.
In addition to being a current CSULB undergraduate student with an academic need, program participants must be U.S. citizens or hold legal permanent residency, and be low-income as determined by U.S. Census Bureau, a first-generation college student, or a student with a disability.
