Summary: This assessment report presents a review of the accomplishments and services provided by the CSULB Career Development Center (CDC) over the past year. The three types of assessments in this report are primarily quantitative and qualitative, and some focused on a specific student learning outcome. The student learning outcomes examine what a student learns or how a student changes by participating in the program or utilizes the service. Both program objectives and student learning outcomes are measurable statements that provide evidence as to how the CDC is reaching its goals. Assessments were categorized into the following five sections of this report:
Mission: To provide innovative career decision-making and job search services that enhance student development.
Vision Statement: To be recognized as a Career Development Center (CDC) that strives for excellence and success through a student-centered philosophy. We will be valued as a practical, research and technology driven operation in the delivery of services. Moreover, the total campus community, including, alumni, employers and family, will become partners with the CDC in providing career-decision making and job search assistance.
Value Statement: The Values, listed below, transcend and illuminate the ideals and services, which the Career Development Center aspires towards in each interaction undertaken. We believe that putting our Values into practice creates long-term benefits for all those we serve.
