The fee for the SRWC is $110 per semester, $83 per summer. This fee is based on the total estimated cost of construction, $65 million.
Unlike most schools within the California State University Sytem, CSULB has committed to financing the initial cost of the center. This means that students will NOT pay the fee for the facility until the year the facility opens.
All currently enrolled CSULB students will be permitted to use the Student Recreation & Wellness Center. Payment of the proposed fee will entitle students to full access to the programs, services, and facilities of Student Recreation & Wellness Center.
The official groundbreaking ceremony will be in January 30, 2009 in parking lot 11 at 11:00a.m.. The Center is scheduled to open in 2010.
The facility will be constructed on parking lot 11, next to the "new" parking structure on Palo Verde Blvd. There will also be an additional parking structure built.
Yes, temporarily parking will be impacted. However, a new parking structure will be constructed which will result in more spaces located next to the SRWC.
