Manager's Responsibilities
All actions and comments, whether to officials, supervisors, participants, or spectators should be constructive, if offered at all.
We encourage everyone to play to the best of their ability and make every effort to win within the spirit of the rules. We strongly discourage win-at-all-costs attitudes and expect everyone to conduct themselves in a gracious and mature manner in victory AND defeat. Intramural activities are for the enjoyment of the participants only. They should be viewed in relation to their relative importance in a person’s life and the world in general.
The Intramural Sports Staff reserves the right to act on any situation that may arise that is not specifically covered in the regulations.
The following guidelines for participants and spectators should assist teams in reinforcing a sportsmanlike atmosphere.
At no time during any Intramural Sports Activity is the consumption of alcoholic beverages allowed. Individuals suspected of being under the influence will not be allowed to participate and will be asked to leave the playing area. Each team is responsible for enforcing this policy with team members and spectators. Violators are subject to disciplinary action.
An individual who wishes to appeal a suspension must provide the Intramural Department with a written statement within 48 hours after the infraction. After a written request has been submitted the director and coordinator of that particular activity will review the situation and render a decision before the next contest.
If the Intramural Department has not received a formal appeal in the time span stated above, the suspension will remain and there will be no further discussion.
