The Division of Student Services provides a broad range of programs and services to help students reach their academic goals and to enhance their personal, intellectual and social development. The division offers many extracurricular activities that contribute to campus life and the overall college experience for CSULB students.
A campus-wide focus on student success leads to CSULB receiving national recognition for its graduation rates, affordability, safety, student debt ratio and value, among other distinctions.
The 2010-2011 student body president tops off his successful year as head of CSULB's student government with an internship in the prestigious Panetta Institute’s Congressional Internship Program.
Political science major John Sellers is spending the fall semester in Washington, D.C. as CSULB's 2012 representative in the Congressional Internship Program, which is sponsored by the Panetta Institute for Public Policy.

On Thursday, October 20, Fox News political analyst and Washington Post columnist Juan Williams will be featured speaker at the fifth annual Distinguished Speaker Series event from 7:30 - 9 PM in the Carpenter Center.
CSULB will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2011, to observe Veterans Day. Due to this holiday, all Tuesday, November 8, classes will be cancelled and all Friday, November 11, classes will be held on Tuesday, November 8. The Community Service Officer Program provides safety escorts Sunday thru Thursday from 6PM-11PM and Friday / Saturday from 4:30PM-9:30PM. The service is free provides a safe alternative to walking alone. For information, call (562) 985-4101 or go to Escort Service.
Counseling & Psychological Services provides online screening tools to help students assess whether personal problems or mental health issues are impacting them. The screening tools will connect students to campus services that can help.
