EFFECTIVE DATES:    January 23, 2002 (Spring 2002 Semester)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The job applicant must have a MA in Sociology or equivalent, a potential for teaching effectiveness, teaching experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

DESIRED/PREFERRED:  ABD or Ph.D. in Sociology.  Preference will be given to candidates whose education and teaching experience best qualifies them for the particular course to be staffed and/or to those with a record of successful teaching experience within the CSU system.

DUTIES:  To teach one to three courses from those listed depending upon enrollment demand, departmental needs and lecturer specialties:

*NOTE:  Additional classes may be assigned as the need arises.

RANK & SALARY: Commensurate with training and experience.  Probable range for one 3-unit course:  $563-$644 per month for six months.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION Letter of application addressing qualifications for courses to be taught, resume, and three letters of recommendation and official transcripts from institution awarding the highest degree.  Employment is contingent upon proof of the legal right to work in the U. S.  This proof must be provided prior to employment at the university.  An appointment is not final until proof is provided.
