Position: Full-Time Lecturer in Communication Theory (One Year Appointment, with possibility of renewal for one year, based on budget and performance). The Department of Communication Studies anticipates hiring a full-time lecturer to meet the curriculum needs of the department's majors and General Education commitments. Effective Date: August 26, 2002 Minimum Qualifications: M.A. in Communication Studies (by date of appointment) with emphasis in interpersonal, intercultural, and/or organizational communication. Candidate must demonstrate effective teaching, and the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Desired/Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in Communication; potential for or record of scholarly research activity; ability to teach large lecture courses; familiarity with the CSU system. Duties: The Department expects to hire a full-time lecturer to teach courses that fulfill curriculum needs in Communication Theory (interviewing, communication theory, business & organizational communication, interpersonal communication, conference management). The successful candidate will teach four classes per semester, is expected to advise students, and serve as needed on departmental committees. Salary Range: Based on qualifications and experience, probable range will be $38,000 - $45,000.
