Part-Time Lecturer

Position:  Lecturers – Part Time in the Department of Social Work teaching in a variety of specialty areas such as practice, human behavior, research, administration, policy, and organizing.  Teaching opportunities are available in both the graduate and undergraduate programs on Monday through Saturday.

Effective Date: Spring, Summer and Fall Sessions – Spring (1/23/02 – 5/31/02), Summer (6/3/02-8/23/02), Fall (8/26/02 – 12/23/02)

Minimum Qualifications:  A minimum of a Master in Social Work degree from an accredited program, four or more years of post MSW work experience, and one or more years of full-time equivalent university teaching experience.  Human Service workshops and training experience may be considered as augmentation for university teaching.  Candidates must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. 

Preferred Qualifications:  A Master in Social Work Degree, plus a Ph.D. or D.S.W. in Social Work or a closely related field.  One or more years of full-time equivalent teaching experience at the university level. Four or more years of post-MSW paid social work experience.

Duties:  To teach assigned course(s) from departmental standard course outline, attend mandatory part-time faculty meetings, and adhere to posted student advising hours and other teaching responsibilities specified in the CSULB faculty handbook.

Salary:  Commensurate with education and experience
