University Center for Undergraduate Advising

The University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA) provides general advising for new and continuing CSULB students. Professional academic advisors are available for quick questions and 30-minute individual appointments.

We can help you...

  • Choose and plan your academic program
  • Understand General Education and University graduation requirements
  • Understand your Academic Requirements Report and other University documents
  • Understand University policies, including repeat and withdrawal unit limits
  • Improve your academic performance and get reinstated
  • File an Academic Appeal
  • Access the Freshman Hold Release website.  Through this system you are requesting permission to make a change to the schedule you registered in during SOAR. If your request is approved, you will get authorization to change your schedule on the web at MyCSULB. Go to: https://fhr.lats.csulb.edu/

The University Center for Undergraduate Advising is the "home base" for all CSULB undeclared students, including signature authority on University related documents.

Students with questions about their major requirements should contact their college or departmental advisors.
