New Research Integrity and Compliance Director Joins ORSP

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs would like to announce the appointment of Ms. Nancy Lewis, who has joined the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs as Director of Research Integrity and Compliance.

Ms. Lewis is responsible for promoting ethical leadership and enforcing research regulations and principles at the University in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. Among her duties, she will provide administrative and managerial oversight of institutional compliance of grants and contracts, IRB, IACUC and animal facilities, Responsible Conduct of Research compliance, and research-related trainings.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Lewis served as the Interim Director of Grant Development at California State University, Stanislaus providing oversight to the ORSP operation including the grant proposal preparation and submission process; management and facilitation of the IRB; IACUC Committees; Responsible Conduct of Research compliance; Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Policy Committee; and the CSU Student Research Competition.

Ms. Lewis holds an M.A. in Higher Education Administration and bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from San Jose State University.
