Campus Indirect Cost Returns Now Posted to RS-Funds

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is pleased to announce that it has refunded a total of $426,322 back to the campus community in accordance with the Provost’s Indirect Return Policy Statements (July 15, 2011, revised Nov 4, 2011) and the agreed distribution formulae used for the allocation of funds to PI’s and Departments within the individual Colleges or Academic Units. The current accruals relate to transactions for the 6-month period between July 1 to December 31st 2012. Research Stimulation (RS-) account holders with authorized access to the Data Warehouse can review their indirect returns as follows:

RS Fund Available Balance, Budget and FA Return entry:

1. Log-in to People Soft CFS – Financial Reports.
2. Click on “Sponsored Programs” Dashboard (this is located at the very top of the screen)
3. Select “Management” Tab
4. Select “Available Balance”
5. In Report Filter – Select “Fund”; Type-in PI RS Fund (if you do not know your RS fund number please review the alphabetical index in the RS Fund Lookup Excel Spreadsheet sorted by PI or filter by PI Name) and move to select before clicking “GO”
6. When RS Fund report shows up (Example RS Fund Available Balance RS120); Click on Budget amount to drill down.
7. Drill down report will show budget posting by date. The FA Return posted on 1/31/2013.

Data Warehouse training registration is available through online registration.

All PIs must complete both a Finance Authority Agreement and a Security Application in order to access reports of their accounts through the Data Warehouse. Information on how to complete these forms is available on the ORSP website.
