This is the Orientation Program to Misconduct in Research. At CSU Long Beach the policy also includes "creative activities" in the arts. The primary purpose of this orientation module is to acquaint faculty with the sobering fact that there is already enough misconduct nationally to warrant the creation (several years ago) of a federal office to oversee the problem. The corollary to this is to introduce the formal processes and the philosophy of justice and jurisprudence that undergirds it.
This is a relatively short module, consisting of a brief explanation of campus policies and then a short tour of the Office of Research Integrity of the U.S. Public Health Service, DHHS.
A "Resources" menu is available, and you will be referred to websites listed on it.
Let's begin with the CSU Long Beach Policy on Misconduct in Research and Creative Activity.
