Post-procedural Care

Care of animals which have undergone surgical procedures, for which there is a planned recovery period rather than euthanitization, is predicated on aseptic technique. It is essential that every effort is made to reduce pain and suffering in the post-surgical environment. It is especially important that persons qualified to distinguish between normal post-op conditions and adverse developments understand their responsibilities and that a formal schedule of monitoring is established.
