At CSU Long Beach the animal care facilities are divided into two areas and managed centrally by the Director for Compliance, Office of University Research. The Director is assisted by the Research Facilities Coordinator and Animal Care Technicians. The IACUC inspects the facilities at least twice annually and provides, in addition, advice to the Director on all aspects of the facilities.
Due to infrastructure and personnel limitations, no dogs, cats, agricultural animals, or primates may be brought to the campus for research purposes. There are only limited provisions for isolation of species.
