The Chancellor’s Office seeks applicants for a one-semester reassignment in Fall 2013 to serve as faculty coordinator of the project on baccalaureate limits. The reassignment may be renewable for Spring 2014.
CSULB’s Center for Behavioral Research and Services (CBRS) is hosting two Research Infrastructure in Minority Institutions (RIMI) trainings in August.
Both institutes will be held at the CBRS.
Dr. Al Russo officially retired today after four years of stellar service as the Director of Research Compliance for the University. Dr. Russo joined the Biology Department in 1983 as a lecturer in physiology and was appointed to a tenure track position in the Physiology Department in 1988. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1994 and Professor in 1998.
Over 50 people, including faculty, staff and administrators, attended a research development workshop in the Faculty Center for Professional Development last week. Offered by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, the five-day workshop provided information on the life cycle of a sponsored program, including how to find funding opportunities, develop a budget and navigate through the submission and internal clearance processes. Discussions focused on understanding the peer review process, various external and internal policies, the obligations of ethical stewardship and the need for responsible practices associated with the use of animal and human subjects in research.

CSULB is ranked 13th in the nation in conferring baccalaureate degrees to minority students in the most recent list of the “Top 100 Degree Producers” by Diverse Issues in Higher Education.
