Memorial Services for Bob Rodgers and Two Former Employees

Bob Rodgers

The campus will hold a memorial service on Thursday, August 15 from 12 – 1:30 pm for Bob Rodgers, Media Production Specialist in Instructional Technology Support Services who passed away in June. It will be held at the University Student Union, 2nd floor Ballroom.

Please RSVP for the event online. If you cannot attend the service, but would like to contribute stories, memories and/or pictures of Bob or make a financial contribution to be used toward his memorial, please complete the online form.

Bob Wuesthoff

A memorial service for former faculty member, baseball head coach and 49er Hall of Fame inductee Bob Wuesthoff will be held at Blair Field on Tuesday, July 23 at 10 am. Wuesthoff died on July 12 at the age of 87.

Wuesthoff was a physical education professor at CSULB and was the founder, long-time director and continuing consultant to the summer 49er Camp. He served as head coach for the Long Beach State baseball program for six years (1964-69), was an associate athletic director and served as the interim athletics director during the fall of 1969.

Hans Lampl

A memorial service will be held for Professor Emeritus Hans Lampl on Saturday, August 3 at 2 pm at the Gerald Daniel Recital Hall. Dr. Lampl passed away on May 11 at the age of 94.

Dr. Lampl conducted the orchestra and taught music at CSULB from 1965-1983. He also served as president of Long Beach Opera and was the author of Turning Notes into Music.

 

Final CalPERS Workshop for 2013: “Planning Your Retirement”

Benefits Services is hosting an additional retirement workshop on Friday, August 16 from 2 – 4:30 pm, due to the July workshops being filled to capacity. Visit Benefits Services online for important information about the workshop. RSVP by August 9.

 

New Ethics and Sexual Harassment Training Program Vendor

Beginning August 1, the Chancellor’s Office is switching training vendors from Workplace Answers Inc. to LawRoom. When you are required to complete the Sexual Harassment Prevention and/or Ethics training programs, LawRoom will send you the updated program via email. Read more in the July 11 issue of News & Notes.

 

Staff Week is Next Week

Participate in scavenger hunts, enjoy a picnic lunch and attend a Los Angeles Dodgers game during Staff Week July 23-28. Additional information is available on the Staff Council website.
