Associate Vice President, Faculty Affairs
Holly Harbinger has served as Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs since 2008. Prior to that, she was Associate Dean of the College of the Arts at CSULB where she also served as Director of Graduate Studies and was an advocate for the arts and graduate education. She is also a tenured Professor in the Theatre Arts Department. She received a B.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an M.F.A. in Dance from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.
She has been a performer, choreographer, and fight master in theatre, dance, and opera companies in New York and throughout the United States and Europe. She taught in the Dance Department at the City University of New York and in the Undergraduate Drama Program at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. She was a contributing author for a textbook on university actor training, a conference presenter on applications of Laban Movement Analysis for actor training programs, and a specialist in historical dance and movement.
Holly Harbinger is co-author of Navigating the New Normal: Evidence-Based Changes in Faculty and Organizational Development (2013, lead article). The article details how the CSULB faculty work life survey and the follow-up focus groups have been used to support revision of campus faculty development activities.
