The following faculty members and administrators were awarded new external grants and contracts in November.

  • Leslie Reese (Center for Language Minority and Education Research), $30,000 from the Los Angeles Unified School District, “Reseda HS Coordinators and SDAIE Cohort V” and $51,500 from the Calexico Unified School District, “Calexico USD Curriculum Assessment.”

College of Engineering

  • Eric Besnard (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) $97,800 from the US Air Force Research Lab via Garvey Space Craft Corp., “Vortex Propulsion Flight Demonstration."
  • Emmitt Clark (Math, Engineering, Science and Achievement Center - MESA) $9,375 from UCOP MESA Statewide Office, “MESA, NSF Scholarship Grant.”
  • Burkhard Englert (Computer Engineering and Computer Science), $89,196 from USC/METRANS, “The Impact of Truck Repositioning on Congestion and Pollution in the LA Basin.”
