A s part of our efforts to enhance support for research, scholarly and creative activity at CSULB, Interim Associate Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs Jim Till and I are pleased to invite you to the first university event designed to showcase outstanding examples of recent and ongoing research, published works, and the creative accomplishments of our faculty and students.
The All University Celebration of Research, Scholarly & Creative Activity, scheduled for Thursday, May 1 at The Pointe, will feature posters, exhibits, and materials illustrating the diversity of the creative and scholarly accomplishments of our faculty and students. The event is open to the public from 2 – 5 p.m. following a luncheon and awards program for this year’s SCACS and grant recipients and student research awardees.
I encourage you to participate by displaying one or more posters highlighting your current research and creative projects or by providing scholarly and creative work, such as published books, articles, and creative contributions for display. If you would like to submit a poster or work for display, please visit the Office of University Research Web site or contact Robin Moore in the Office of University Research.
In addition, I encourage you to visit the University Student Union on Friday, May 2 when we will be hosting the Social Science Research and Instructional Council’s (SSRIC) 32nd Annual Student Research Conference. This conference will feature exceptional research in all areas of the social sciences conducted by students at CSU and California community college campuses. I would like to thank Professor Jose Moreno and the entire planning committee for their hard work and commitment to making this event a success.
It is our hope that both of these events, the first annual All University Celebration of Research, Scholarly & Creative Activity and the Student Research Conference, will shine a light on some of the tremendous accomplishments of our faculty and students and further our sense of pride in the breadth and quality of research, discovery, and creative work at CSULB.
