Grants Available for International Projects

The International Education Committee and the Center for International Education invite faculty and staff to submit grant proposals for internationally-related projects by March 10. The Office of the Provost has allocated $8,000 for the program, creating approximately 10 $500 to $800 grants.

In the past, grants have funded international-themed campus events, such as a speaker series or a film series; initiatives for short-term international courses or other education abroad experiences; and the integration of international content or collaborative efforts among students and scholars from different countries.

Proposals will be evaluated based on significance of the project and the extent to which the proposed project would promote the international experience of students and the campus community; justification for the requested funding amount; and clarity and specificity of the proposal.   The selection of proposals shall be conducted by members of the International Education Committee.

To apply, complete the cover sheet and the project description.  Submit either 5 collated copies to the International Education Committee (c/o International Projects Awards, Center for International Education, BH-201)  OR  submit a WORD attachment of the cover sheet and project description to either Linda Olson Levy  or Joan Robinson.

Projects must be completed during the 2008-09 academic year. At the conclusion of the course, a one-page evaluation report summarizing the outcome of the project must be submitted.  Winning proposals will be announced by May 15.  For more information, contact Dr. Elaine Haglund.
