Grant Writing Institute
January 15-17, 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Grant Writing Institute (GWI) is an intensive, highly interactive program designed to help faculty successfully apply for internal and external funding opportunities.
The Institute will focus on the elements of developing winning proposals and the specific steps needed to produce a proposal and submit it to a granting agency. It will allow scholars to interact with one another, enabling them to offer constructive critiques of research proposals and provide faculty with at least three viable leads for external funding sources and/or a draft outline of an external funding proposal.
Presenters and panel discussion members are California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) faculty and staff who have successfully used external funding opportunities to advance their research interests, enhance their publication records, and foster the involvement of graduate and undergraduate students in active learning.
Prior to the Institute, contact Carolyn Dersch at 5-5330 to register for GENIUS-SMARTS, a global online network and database of scientific and scholarly expertise containing profiles of scholars at leading universities throughout the world; SMARTS is an electronic matching and funding opportunity notification system, which provides investigators with a direct and targeted electronic link to research funding information.
