About Showcase

Showcase: An Academic Affairs Digest is published twice a year in our effort to provide a compendium of significant scholarly and creative works and accomplishments of the faculty, staff, and students at California State University, Long Beach. The publication features faculty who were selected by colleagues for the annual distinguished teaching and scholarly and creative achievement awards and students who were the first-place winners in the annual Student Research Competition held in March of each year. The faculty and students featured here submitted brief essays or summaries of the accomplishment or approach that contributed to special recognition.

Showcase also publicizes titles of refereed publications, books, creative works, papers presented at major regional and national conferences, and grants and contracts. Deadlines for submission of materials and protocols are announced through the Office of the Dean in each college and of the Dean of the University Library.

We hope that this magazine will encourage the sharing of insights and interests and that it will cultivate peer-recognition of endeavors that enrich and enhance the CSULB academic environment.
