Full-Time Lecturer (Recreation & Leisure Studies)

Salary Range

Salary commensurate with experience

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Recreation/Leisure or related discipline; at least one degree in the field of Recreation or Leisure Services
  • Background in Recreation Administration and Tourism
  • Evidence of ability to teach college level Recreation Administration and Tourism courses including, but not limited to, Administration, Budget and Finance, Facilities Management, and Foundation courses
  • Commitment to and/or experience in educating a diverse student population

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Research and work experience in administration of Recreation and Leisure Services
  • Demonstrated experience in computer-assisted instruction

 

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in, but not limited to:  Supervision and Administration, Budget and Finance, Facility Design, and Tourism
  • Provide leadership in and establish communication with agencies and organizations appropriate to individual area of specialty
  • Other duties as assigned by the department chair

  • Three recent letters of recommendation

  • Evaluations of teaching effectiveness

  • Copies of transcripts from institution awarding the highest degree.

  • Finalists will also be requested to submit a signed SC-1 form and an official transcript
